What are the basic types of pigments and additives used in the rolling molding process?

There are three types of pigments used: organic, inorganic and special pigments. Their use and function will be affected by other additives

1, the pigment

Of the 500, 000 known chemical compounds, just over 2, 000 are pigments or color additives. There are only about 200 of them suitable for plastic materials because of their thermal needs; Of 200 kinds, only about 35 kinds are suitable for rolling molding. If you use crosslinked polyethylene you get even less of it.

Colors are products that combine pigments, dyes and additives (generally dispersants); Formulation and processing methods to produce reproducible colors, for rolling manufacturers to use. Pigment suppliers usually call the combination of color and additive formula.

All pigments and fuels are fine powders, and the smallest pigments are called primary particles. Generally less than 1 micron in size, it looks like a glass shard or cylinder, has a high surface energy and randomly forms color particles during filtration and drying. To achieve a spotless system, it must be effectively dispersed so that individual pigment particles or granules can be wetted onto the polymer and separated so that the pigment particles are invisible to the eye.

There are three types of pigments used: organic, inorganic and specific pigments. Their use and function can be affected by other additives, mixing methods and processing conditions.

Pigments can affect roll-moulded products with pigments in a number of ways, including shrinkage, opacity, durability (exudation or plating), light stability, reduced impact strength and other physical properties, warping, electrostatic swirling, and prolonged processing time.

2. Additives

A wide range of additives can be used to supply roll molding materials, including: antioxidants, anti-ultraviolet agents, interface agents or wetting agents, antistatic agents, flow accelerators, internal lubricants, internal release agents, foaming agents, carbon melanin, antimicrobial additives, anti-flame retardants, impact improvers.
