The main properties of plastics

Most of the plastic is light, chemical stability, not rust;

Good impact resistance;

It has good transparency and wear resistance.

Good insulation, low thermal conductivity;

General molding, good coloring, low processing cost;

Most plastics have poor heat resistance, high thermal expansion rate and easy combustion.

Poor dimensional stability, easy deformation;

Most plastics have poor low temperature resistance and become brittle at low temperature and are easy to age.

Some plastics are soluble in solvents.

Plastics can be divided into two categories: thermosetting and thermoplastic. The former cannot be reshaped for use, and the latter can be remanufactured. Thermal plasticity has a larger physical elongation, generally between 50% and 500%. The force does not change linearly at different elongation. For plastic research and development institutions or enterprises have European standard instruments of plastic tensile testing machine.

The different properties of plastics determine their use in the industry. With the progress of technology, the modification of plastics has not stopped the research. It is hoped that in the near future, the modified plastic can be used in a wider range of applications, even replacing materials such as steel and no longer polluting the environment.
